Jakarta

travel time: September 2023

After two long and exhausting flights we finally landed in the town of Jakarta. Overtired but excited we made our trip by train into the city center. We quickly checked into our hotel to get rid of our luggage to roam around the town and explore the city. The train took us to Jakarta Kota - the Old Town - where we started our tour.

We walked around and had a look at all the museums that you can find there. Quite near to the train station you find a big plaza - Taman Fatahillah with museums and cafes around. As is was quite a hot day we looked for a place in the shadow and found a nice small cafe to have something to drink and a snack.

The heat and the sleep deprivation really took its toll and so we decided to only stroll around for a bit and then take the train back to our hotel. On the way from the train station to our hotel we found a small local restaurant where we had an early diner and called it a day.

If you have a spare day it is quite a nice town to stop and roam around for a bit but if you can´t fit it into your schedule you won´t miss anything.
