From Munich we took a flight via Copenhagen to Vágar, the only airport in the Faroe Islands. During our stay in the Faroe Islands, there was a strike happening, so we expected some restrictions. At the airport everything went smoothly and also picking up our electric car was easy. We were grateful that we found an electric car a few days before our adventure, as the ongoing strike had led to a shortage of gasoline.

Upon our arrival we were greeted with rain, so we headed to a small café. After a cup of tea and coffee we visited Sandavágskirkja in the small town of Sandavágur.
At Lake Leitisvatn, there are some charming tiny houses with grass roofs. We stopped there to capture the beautiful lakeside scenery.
When we reached Múlafossur, there was a heavy rainfall, so we had to wait in the car for a few minutes, hoping the weather would improve. Unfortunately, the rain didn't stop, but the strong wind did ease up, so we decided to go for it. It's a five-minute walk from the parking area to the viewpoint. From there, you have an amazing view of the waterfall, the town of Gásadalur, and the surrounding area. We didn't mind the rain, as it added to the atmosphere.

On the way back to our appartment, we stopped at the tiny village of Bøur, which offers an incredible view. In the evening, we went to a small café in Sørvágur for dinner.

The next day, we started quite early for a hike at Lake Leitisvatn. In the village of Miðvágur, there is a parking spot where you can begin the hike. Since the hike is on private land, there is an entrance fee of 200 DKK per person. During the first 30 minutes of our hike, we encountered a lot of rain and wind, but the weather improved significantly afterward, and by the afternoon, we even had some sunshine. So, be prepared for quickly changing weather.
We first hiked to Trælanípa, a perpendicular cliff where you can see the lake above the ocean. The hike is quite easy as it is nearly flat, with only some elevation at the end.
From the top of the cliff, you have an amazing view, and it's also a great spot to fly a drone. Unfortunately, as soon as Alex's drone was high in the air, it sent a voltage error, giving us about a 30-second window to get the drone back over the island to avoid losing it. Thankfully, with about three meters to spare, Alex managed to get the drone over the edge, and it crashed into the soft grass.
After taking in the amazing view of the sea and the cliffs, we headed to Bøsdalafossur waterfall. The hike to the waterfall isn't well maintained, and you need to hike over large stones. However, you are rewarded with a stunning view of the lake and the Bøsdalafossur waterfall cascading into the ocean.

After a cup of coffee in our apartment, we headed to the town of Vestmanna. While our electric car was charging, we went for dinner and enjoyed a really nice pizza at the restaurant Dísvoy.
